OEC & PCFO Applaud Clean, Renewable Energy Investment Planned in Northwest Ohio

On Wednesday, Toledo City Council approved plans to move forward with a newly planned utility-scale solar array in northwest Ohio along with other area communities. Collectively through the Northwest Ohio Aggregation Coalition (NOAC), partners are looking to purchase up to 25 percent of their electric power through clean, renewable energy.

Euclid Commits to 30% Carbon Reduction by 2030, Joins Power A Clean Future

On Monday, the Euclid City Council passed a resolution officially making the city a Power a Clean Future Ohio Community. The resolution also commits the city to reducing emissions by 30% by 2030 over 2010 levels. In passing the resolution, Euclid joins a small set of Ohio communities that have set measurable goals to take meaningful actions to address climate change.

Today, leaders from across Ohio joined together to launch Power a Clean Future Ohio, a bipartisan organization that is dedicated to working with local officials to develop equitable global climate change solutions. The organization is committed to reducing carbon emissions throughout Ohio in big and small ways that make sense for each local community.

Local Communities Led the Way on Clean Energy with Big Wins on Election Day

Yesterday voters in Columbus and Grove City passed ballot issues – Issue 1 and 10, respectively – to approve community choice aggregation for 100% renewable energy for their cities. Issue 1 passed overwhelming, 76% to 24% and will make the City of Columbus the largest purchaser of renewable energy in the Midwest and one of the largest in the country. Issue 10 also passed convincingly in Grove City by 63% to 37%.
